FEDCO Chosen by Doosan for the Jeddah III ERD Supply

The FEDCO HPB 1400

FLUID EQUIPMENT DEVELOPMENT COMPANY (FEDCO) is proud to announce that Doosan Heavy Industries of Korea has selected FEDCO to supply Energy Recovery Devices (ERD) for the Phase III expansion of the Jeddah seawater RO facility located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Coming on the heels of the FEDCO ERD order for the Doosan "Sea Hero" project, FEDCO will supply their patented HPB-1400 Hydraulic Pressure Booster for what will become one of the largest and most significant mega-scale seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) system in the world with a capacity to produce 240,000 m³/day of permeate.

The FEDCO ERDs were selected based on the potential to deliver the lowest cost of permeate over the life of the system as well as FEDCO's track record of success at other large scale RO installations such as the KAIA SWRO facility in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and their revolutionary low-pressure ERD's at the water recycle Changi plant in Singapore.

FEDCO is a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance pumps and energy recovery devices used in the process of converting seawater into potable water. With the most diverse pump and ERD product lines for RO desalination in the world, FEDCO has sustained an annual growth of 40% or more over the past 5 years with exports to over 40 countries around the world.

The HPBe is the result of state of the art Computational Fluid Dynamics software and extensive in-house testing. The HPBe is now the standard offering from FEDCO.

FEDCO Awarded New Large-Scale Projects

FEDCO continues to be awarded some of the largest and most prestigious projects in the industry:

FEDCO has been contracted by Biwater-AEWT to supply 10 LP-HEMI-200 units for the interstage pressure boost and energy recovery for the Changi NEWater project in Singapore. The Changi project will supply over 6 MGD. FEDCO was chosen for this project due to the unique ability of the LP-HEMI to provide perfect pressure boost for the widely varying conditions of this system.

The second project is in conjunction with EBD Arabia. FEDCO has been contracted to build eight HPB-240 ERD’s along with eight MSS-240 pumps for seawater service in Saudi Arabia. The total project will provide over 5 MGD of treated water for the end user.

FEDCO was awarded a third large project for GE Spain. This project is to supply the interstage boosters for a two-stage sea water system in Turkmenistan. The overall plant capacity is 10 MGD. FEDCO's HPB's allow the OEM to recover 2nd stage brine energy to boost the interstage flow. Using these interstage boosters, the OEM does not require a separate interstage booster pump and motor for each train.
