This piece represents a remarkably common scenario: a manufacturer has provided almost unusable promotional images for a product that the retailer needs to use immediately for advertising.
The original artwork arrived wrapped in a "protective" plastic sleeve that was damaged during transit. The sleeve had also become fused to the photo (of course!). With no way to physically remove the rippled plastic and no time to obtain new artwork, the only way to use the image was to digitally reconstruct the image from a high-resolution scan.
The result (with less than 2 hours of work) was a clean, usable image that bore little resemblance to the mangled original.
