One of the most common applications for digital image retouching is the restoration of damaged photo prints. This piece is very representative of the types of damage that I typically encounter - tears, discoloration, surface separation, and stains.

The original image was missing several pieces in the areas near the nose and both shoulders, as well as the forehead. Reconstruction was a straightforward effort that resulted in a clean, seamless repair that still retained the aged look of the original.
